Appointments available outside normal GP surgery hours
If you find it difficult to attend appointments during normal surgery opening times, you may be able to book an Enhanced Access appointment.
Enhanced Access provides additional appointments during evenings and weekends for patients registered with a Central and West Warrington Primary Care Network practice.
Enhanced Access is a service that offers pre-bookable appointments outside the normal core GP surgery hours of 8:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Appointments may be available:
- Weekday early mornings and evenings
- Saturdays
The service helps improve access to healthcare for people who work, care for others, attend education, or have other commitments during the day.
Depending on your needs, your appointment may be with:
- A GP
- Practice Nurse
- Healthcare Assistant
- Clinical Pharmacist
- First Contact Physiotherapist
- Other healthcare professionals working within Primary Care
You will be offered the most appropriate appointment for your healthcare needs.
Appointments may be available for:
- Routine GP consultations
- Long-term condition reviews
- Medication reviews
- Health checks
- Cervical screening
- Vaccinations
- Blood pressure reviews
- Follow-up appointments
Enhanced Access is designed for routine and planned care rather than medical emergencies.
Your appointment may not be at your usual GP practice.
Patients may be offered an appointment at another practice or healthcare location within Warrington that is providing the service on behalf of local GP practices.
If your appointment is at a different location, you will be given full details when you book.
Enhanced Access appointments cannot usually be booked online.

The Enhanced Access service provides additional appointment availability outside normal opening hours but does not replace your usual GP surgery.
Enhanced Access is not an emergency service.
